Hey, I just came across my Xanga sight and remembered my password so I thought I would post a blog and see if anyone is stil there in the Unhindered group.

Things are in transition for us in Illinois and we are looking forward to what the next step will be. I'm going to be speaking at a church about 20 miles from here tomorrow. The pastor's wife has inoperable cancer so I have made myself available to fill the pulpit whenever he needs to be with her. I'm looking forward to speaking as I have only done so 8 times in the last 15 months.

Disciplined - something that is so important for one who desires to be a disciple, yet something that is so hard to be all the time. It seems the opportunities to be undisciplined occur with great frequency and it takes purpose and determination to make the right choices. The Apostle Paul revealed his own struggle in being disciplined in Romans 7 and the temptation is to use his struggle as an excuse for my lack of discipline. However, as Paul Harvey would say, "the rest of the story" is found in 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 (NLT)
Remember that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize. You also must run in such a way that you will win. [25] All athletes practice strict self-control. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. [26] So I run straight to the goal with purpose in every step. I am not like a boxer who misses his punches. [27] I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.
